Truffle oil is undoubtedly one of those cooking extravagances we allow ourselves to indulge in every few grocery shops. The addition of velvety olive oil infused with the organic aromatic compounds and exquisite flavours of this culinary gem to your cooking makes for a real gastronomical treat! TruffleHunter has proudly brought the Earth’s offerings of delicious seasonal truffle varieties to your doorstep year after year. Our adventures into the verdant forests of the Sibilini Mountain National Park in central Italy have yielded treasures that we have in turn made available to people in countries all over Europe. Now, TruffleHunter proudly brings to you our very own truffle oil!
The TruffleHunter oil endeavour has been on the drawing board for the past few years. The whole concept of creating our own unique product started when we set out to with the challenge of tasting every single truffle oil on the market. We then embarked upon a lengthy period of experimentation with fresh truffles, dried truffles and truffle flavourings as well as a variety of oils. After a lengthy period of dedicated blending and experimentation, two delicious products were arrived at: white truffle oil and black truffle oil. The next step was to put these products to the test and we did so by sending out samples to chefs as well as retail customers. This feedback constituted one of the final and most important phases of the development of our truffle oil product. Now, the results are in and they are breathtaking! The white truffle oil product received rave reviews from chefs and customers alike, who fell in love with our recipe suggestions for truffle risotto and mashed potato (seasoned with our new truffle oil).
One test subject reported: “it is the first time I have tried truffle oil and I would definitely use it again as it was the most delicious risotto I have ever eaten!” He also went on to say: “I will definitely use this recipe for my next dinner party!”
Other comments from our retail customers that tested the white truffle oil product were:
“We both thought the flavour was fantastic; the white truffle oil greatly exceeded our expectations. After dinner, I found Lucy (the couple’s daughter) in the corner licking the mashed potato off the masher!”
“The flavour was powerful while not being over-powering. It was surprisingly complex and definitely better than the other truffle oils I have tried in the past.”
“My guests and I greatly enjoyed the uplift the truffle oil brought to the dish!”
We here at Truffle Hunter were incredibly happy with the feedback from our white truffle oil, but nothing could have prepared us for the results received from our black truffle oil product! Chefs and retail customers alike had the following to say:
“Although we have used truffle oil before and had recently brought some back from France, we often found the truffle flavour to be barely discernable. The TruffleHunter truffle oil was in a different league altogether! The flavour it imparted was truly amazing - a deep, rich and velvety flavour that transformed the wild mushroom dish we usually make.”
“Very intense, inviting and delicious flavor…”
“We have eaten meals cooked with truffle oil in various high-end restaurants, such as Cipriani, Gordon Ramsey's etc.; this dish would have been at home in any of these…”
Most importantly, we here at TruffleHunter have been very positively surprised by the response our oil samples have received from chefs. We have had feedback from six really top-class chefs, all currently truffle oil users and they have been unanimous in their praise; all promising to buy the oil when it is available! So, we would like to extend a hearty thanks to the generous feedback of our ‘guinea pigs’: it is because of you that we will be moving our truffle oil products into the production stage, so watch this space!
Coming in early October, TruffleHunter’s very own white and black truffle oil will be available for order online!
