WORLD CUP BLACK SUMMER TRUFFLE

Well not quite as big as a Football, but this is a lovely example of a king size Black Summer Truffle, found yesterday morning in the Sibillini Mountain National Park, Central Italy.

This Truffle weighed in at lunchtime today, the 22nd June 2010, at a mighty 323 Grams !

This Truffle would make an amazing dinner party experience and is available to the first person to contact us for £ 200, including next day express delivery to the UK.

  1. wow that thing is HUGE! i adopted a truffle tree in gascony, france in the hopes of someday reaping the rewards but i've been thinking of planting a mycorrhized oak of my own here at home. real truffles are a little out of my budget but i liked reading through your recipe section nonetheless! when i was working at Aria in Sydney (Australia) we used to collect all the leftover shavings, combine them with creme fraiche, spread it in layers of camembert and let it sit to infuse for a week before serving it with a crisp apple salad and local honey. it was absolutely beautiful as i'm sure your recipes are too :)

  2. Wow, that must have made a lot of risotto! How much would something this big cost?
